This book is great, it makes Captain America a must read that I have not seen since the Ed Brubaker era of Captain America. And to be honest I like this better. It is also a build up to Marvel's Secret Empire event, which as of the time of writing this is going on right now, and I am loving it. I just came here to buy the trade. It is tied into other books like Avengers:Standoff but it not really needed I don't believe, It is recapped enough to know what happened. All you need to know is that a cosmic cube came alive (it happens all the time in Marvel just roll with it) and was changing people's memories And also unfortunately tied into Civil War 2, as you can tell I hated Civil War 2 however this book takes Civil War 2 turns it on its head and makes it better and all you need to know is that the heroes are fighting again (because marvel had a movie coming out).It is a political thriller. And with that being said it does draw from the headlines. And depending on your politics you might be upset. I will put this bluntly: If you are an easily offended Trump supporter don't read it. Sorry if I upset you but save your money then, but hey if you can handle it more power to you! However I do feel that people are not giving this book a fare shake. Because of the what happened in the first issue. It was on the news and it is the first issue but just in case you want to save it, SPOILER!:Captain America is a Hydra Agent. and some people were calling him a Nazi but that is wrong because Hydra existed before Nazi Germany. Anyways people were saying it was against his Jewish creators. Then some people were upset that it was political, even though some of the best comics are political example V for Vendetta. Some were upset about the type of politicas because it does compare Trump and Red Skull but I did not here this outcry when it was reversed for the other side, Iron Man in the Five Nightmares book (also really good I recommend) got insulted by being called Imperialist, Fascists, Capitalist etc. Hell one reviewer was asking if marvel hated white males...like WTF?Please Give it a Change and don't be part of the outrage machine. I understand if you just don't like it because cosmic cubes are in the mix
