When reading this book, there is a feeling of deep peace as Helen tells her story. It is remarkable that such a spirit is felt as one reads of one horror after another. How is it that a spirit of forgiveness permeates this whole work? The human spirit is able to endure many things, particularly if a person is loved. Such a family as Helen's was able to do that so that she was able to believe in that love throughout her tale. What a wonderful WOMAN!
