This is a book where the author was not afraid to speak frankly and tell Americans his true thoughts on politics, family and more. I enjoyed reading the biography about the author and the autobiography about his family, particularly about his grandfather. This section of the book really gives perspective on how the author formed his opinions. In my opinion, American stories are captivating and I have an enormous respect for those who came before us, building a foundation for all Americans today. The author talks about heroism and who we as Americans might look towards. Being a Marine who served in Iraq twice, makes this author a hero from my perspective. The book will make you think and while you might not agree with every opinion in the book, it will put much of our American culture into perspective from the author's viewpoint. With the author's perspective, the book does its job in presenting a full base of passionate knowledge for the reader to think about. If you don't want to think or you are not open to another person's perspective this book is not for you. But, if you are willing to be open minded or have similar beliefs to the author, you will enjoy this quick read, which is well worth reading.
