The Englishwoman in Americaby Isabella Lucy BirdAmazing book of travel in the late 1800s via the sea and still be able to bring memories of my travel to Americain 1965 on board the Queen Mary before she was 'retired' to Long Beach.The book describes the food, the activities on board ship, the embarkation and disembarkation, the last view of the English countryside and the unbelievable joy of seeing the Statute of Liberty. (oops! that was my feelings in 1965)It could also could be a reminder of some of the cruises you may have been on. If you like ship travel or just like to travel you will enjoy.This is a wonderful book to have in your collection. Look up Isabella Lucy Bird's other books as well, you won't be disappointed.My only regret at 63 years old is that I didn't keep a journal of my immigration to America. I still have the menu's of that trip and the daily activities booklets, and even passenger list. Now if I could just remember all the details :-)Mary Ann (forgive me if I didn't give the review correctly) still learning the ropes.
