Calling America by Alex Boye - Inspirational Pop Album (2013) | Perfect for Road Trips, Workouts & Uplifting Moments

I love, love the single "Calling America". I had the opportunity to hear Alex Boye in a concert setting where he debuted this song. He told us that the inspiration for Calling America was because of the sorrow he had felt for the United States on Sept 11. He told us that after watching the new's reports, his first thought was "What are they doing to my country!!". He said that he had felt in his heart that he would "immigrate" to America, so he wrote down his feelings in what would become the words to the beginning of that song. In Feb of 2012 he was naturalized as a citizen of the United States of America and he said that after he took the oath of naturalization and received his certificate, the rest of the words came to his mind and heart. The video is equally inspiring.The remaining songs, Amazing Grace, America the Beautiful, Shenandoah seem to be personal favorites that have special meaning for him. He is also a soloist for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and those songs are performed. The last song, Make them Hear You, is a very powerful song, and anthem.I would recommend this CD, it is uplifting and patriotic and spiritual and just good.I have much respect and love for Alex Boye. He has a way of making me feel what he feels when he sings. The energy and emotion he puts into every song he performs amazes me. I feel good when I listen to his music and this album is no exception.I enjoyed this album very much. I love Alex Boye's music and recommend it to anyone. I got it quickly and was happy with the quality.This CD is not what I expected after seeing Alex Boye perform with the Tabernacle Choir. His style in these songs is not the beloved versions of them: sings well but not what I expected. For example, "Amazing Grace" lacks the sweet melody of the traditional performance.Love Alex Boye, just wish there were more songs on the CDAlex continues to improve and his vocal renditions show great range and emotion.
