Many James Brown videos were made in the mid-'80s - in Berlin, in Japan [apparently unavailable domestically], in London, and ofcourse, at home, in Chastain Park, Georgia. The songlist is very similiar in these packages but "Live In America" has the overall best *performances* - "Georgia On My Mind", in particular. Fans might be disappointed that "Hot Pants" is over before it begins - approx. 30 seconds long! Tenor saxman Maceo Parker is on hand to lend a touch of "home" to the proceedings - and a longing for a funkier time past. [The audio of this performance has been made widely available on a multitude of labels - CDs "James Brown - Collector's Edition" (Excelsior 8010) and "The Best of James Brown" (SLP 13382) both contain "Super Bad"/"Disco Rap" not found on the original video cassette or the audio cassette included in the package].
