My favourite album of all time. Hightlights include: Indoor fireworks, I'll wear it proudly, American without tears, and Sleep of the just. A remarkable album, basically the first album I am aware of that is simultaneously a divorce AND remarriage album - all the pain of his divorce is here, but then the love and hope of his new relationship with Cait O'Riordan, and finally, a feeling of resignation and reconciliation with the love who (apparently, from the lyrics) scorned him. This is a landmark album from Elvis Costello, and (apart from the first 4 songs which are a bit boring) much more than just a collection of songs.
