Crisis and armed conflict, from Korea to the Persian Gulf From bloody but undeclared wars to swift, information-driven conflicts, the very nature of warfare changed during the last century. America’s military changed, too, with women, elite special forces, and high-tech weaponry playing larger roles. Join Mike Wallace as he examines pivotal clashes in recent history, from Korea to Somalia. See on-the-spot dispatches from the front lines, as reported by legendary correspondents such as Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, and Morley Safer. Hear expert analysis from journalists, military leaders, and historians--including David Halberstam, Robert S. McNamara, and Sen. John McCain--as well as personal testimonies from veterans who fought on the ground, over the sea, and in the air. These 10 thought-provoking episodes show 20th-century conflicts as they happened--and unflinchingly explore the lessons learned in their aftermath. Best known as a correspondent for the groundbreaking CBS newsmagazine 60 Minutes, journalist Mike Wallace has won over 20 Emmys®, three Peabodys, and many other awards in his distinguished career spanning more than five decades.
I chose this rating because I was familiar with the value Mike Wallace places on the truth whether the viewer will like it or not. This results in wildly different immediate responses, but he usually wins in the long haul. I loved every minute of this and am recommending it to any thinking adult who can understand English.
