This deep cut blade will cut through thicker materials. Use with Silhouette deep-cut electronic cutting tools (sold separately). This 2.75x4x.75 inch package contains one 2mm deep-cut blade. Imported.
The deep-cut blade has a 2 mm long blade that will cut through thicker materials than the regular blade. The deep cut blade features a sintered tungsten alloy composed of super-fine powder for extra durability
This blade is technically for the Silhouette Curio, though the Cameo can use it as well, as long as you understand the Cameo's limitations. The Deep Cut Blade is perfect for thin craft foams, felts, thin magnets, and some other materials under 2mm thick. It is not a ratcheting position blade, the depth setting is a smooth turn, which may help you get the precise thickness you need as it is very important for thicker material to be as accurate as possible. The potential issues I have found is that first off, you must realize that the Cameo only has so much cutting power. The Cameo can only push down on the blade with 210g of force, a little under half a pound. You won't be cutting through real chipboard or plastics with this thing, the Cameo is a craft cutter, not a water jet.The second is turning radius. The deep blade can cleanly cut basic simple shapes in thicker material like foam, though it can snag or miss inside corners. While you can do pretty much anything you can think of with some thought as to make certain cuts, I suggest that continuous cut lines do not have any turns that exceed about 80 degrees. You can do 90 degree cuts like squares, but the corners wont be as sharp as you would expect like paper. The 3rd thing is more of an issue if using with the Cameo, is that you may have to trim your material area to fit under the white rollers. I cut my foam to fit just inside while stuck to the cutting mat, and I don't have any issues. If anyone is wondering, Creatology 12x18 foam sheets use the 19-20 setting, force 33 and speed of 4. You can probably go faster if you have smooth turns in your cuts. The last thing is the price, which is way overpriced. I bought a graphtec holder and 15 blades cheaper than this thing. Too bad the graphtec doesn't cut as deep, otherwise I would tell Silhouette to craft themselves a bridge and jump off it.Was not really sure if it would fit on Cameo 4, but still bought it. YES, it fits. Cameo 4 machine comes with some adapters, you have to use the grey adapter for this one. It fits without any modification. This blade is no joke. If you need to cut something that goes past setting 10 on your standard Silhouette blade, then this is the blade for you. It goes all the way up to setting 20! Bought it to cut through felt. I quickly learned that although you're on setting 20, felt is not something that wants to be easily (and crisply) cut by dragging a blade over it, so even though I ironed on freezer paper and ran it through on double cut 3 times it had a hard time capturing the detailed edges. No fault of the blade. Felt just doesn't like to be cut this way. I'm going to use it to cut through thicker card stock as I know it can do the job!Has a hard time cutting through chunky glitter faux leather. Still cuts better than other blades but it won’t cut all the way through even going over it 3 passes with cameo 4 and force 33-I bought my Silhouette with cutting 2mm craft foam in mind. I tried to get it to work with the autoblade but it couldn't quite do the job. Once I got the pressure settings right this worked perfectly. I peeled the excess off the cutting mat and all my shapes stayed put. It has a manual adjustment and the numbers don't line up quite right but craft foam calls for the deepest setting so it's not difficult for me to get it set right. YMMV.Great blade. It fit my silhouette portrait perfectly.I bought this specifically to cut leather and I can honestly say it did the job. My regular silhouette blade didn't come close to cutting my leather scraps but this deep cut blade cut it like butter on the first try. I can't speak to the longevity of it as I've only used it for the past month. I also can't say if it works on other thicker materials like chip board or foam. For the cost, this is worth it!We purchased this blade as a replacement to the autoblade that comes supplied with the Cameo 3 and, honestly; it just works. We're using this in a commercial environment (a retail store offering personalised items) and thus even under the moderate to heavy use that it has received using glossy vinyl it still cuts as if it were brand new.We do recommend cleaning the blade, of-course, but with its manual adjustment it's actually easier than the autoblade making this a significant improvement.Best price for the product, the blade is really deep so be careful not to cut the mat too! Useful for thick materials like felt and cardboard.excellent, thanks very fast deliveryRubbish doesn’t cut well at allAll good
