Growing up on a ranch in western South Dakota in a tradition of Faith, Family, and Hard Work, helped shape my beliefs and values. In place where Freedom is a way of life, deals are still done with handshakes, and neighbors still help each other, there are simple choices between right and wrong. When you step back from the fast-paced digital world of today, things are much more easily put in perspective. Many of these songs were written on the back of a horse, the drivers seat of a pickup, or my front porch looking out at the prairie. In those times of silence I realized I am ashamed of how so many good people, myself included, can sit back and watch their freedoms and liberties slowly slip away. We may not notice it today, or tomorrow, but our children will pay the price for our silence. Music has given me the opportunity to speak my piece. I will be silent No More. Thomas Jefferson once said, 'All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good concience to remain silent.' It is time to stand for our principles and speak for our beliefs.
