This is perfect for smaller spaces and items. It is NOT good for use as a book shelf or taller items. I felt like it fairly easy to put together... I did it myself and I do not consider myself handy at all. It would be really east with a helper, but again, I managed it with just myself. The wood stain that is shown in the picture is also not a match at all... which is import if you are trying to match other pieces of furniture like I was. It comes a lot darker than pictured with no cherry undertone, as pictured. It is decent/good quality, for $100, but definitely not $150. I ordered 2 to flank either side of my desk and I knew as soon as the first one was completed that I would not be keeping the second one. I didnt bother opening the second one and returned it and Amazon was amazing about giving me a credit within 1 hour of returning to my local Kohls! I am super impressed with how easy the return process was.A really nice little cabinet. Although part of the directions were missing and one of the pieces was not complete my awesome husband is real handy and he waa able to fix the problem. When we finally got it together its just the cutest thing. But if you are not a little handy you might have a little problem with this. It was only one shelf but you really need that shelf!!This was easy to assemble and is very attractive. Unfortunately, the shelves are much shallower than what I needed for books and music scores. I should have paid more attention to the dimensions. It will make a lovely display shelf or would be great for housing DVDs and CDs. I would have returned it except that it is really lovely so I will find another use.Looks great, just a little smaller than I originally thought BUT looks goodVery pretty, but shelves are not deep enough to hold picture books or most of our toddler toys. Check dimensions before ordering.A little hard to assembleMy bad; I neglected to check the dimensions, and bought two of these based on the picture. Even though the picture makes them look tall, these are NOT tall bookcases. They are only 4 feet tall; I wanted two 6' bookcases. I sent them back.Awesome addition to my mission bedroom set and easy to assemble and I saw the one bad review and all I can say is if you read and know the size of the piece you wont be disappointed. I have it set up in corner and even comes with a tip over safety strap and holds my bose radio and all my favorite pictures. Fast shipping and excellent packaging. You could maybe squeeze in paperbacks but it is meant for media storage (CDs, DVDs, etc) as described on the shipping box.Bought to store canning jars, looks nice but not the quality one would expect for the price it sell for on $180.nice size. a little disappointed in the colour.
