A "clear" favorite these crystal clear plastic shelf supports are just what you've been looking for. They obviously have a finish that will blend will with any cabinet interior, while the 5mm steel pin offers plenty of strength and easy installation (due to its tapered end). The thin flange at the top is a nice touch as well. Notice how when downward pressure is applied to the shelf, this thin ridge presses against the side of the shelf? This really minimizes the likelihood of tear out, even under heavy loads.... Nice package of 25 pieces.
Crystal clear finish compliments any cabinet interior
Small "Top Flange" engages the side of the shelf, preventing tear-out under heavy loads
5mm steel stem with tapered end makes for super easy installation

I ordered these because they are almost identical to the ones that came in the kitchen cabinets in my house. They have one flaw. The top lip can bend and break very easily. This is the reason that I've needed to order more of them. The top lip is designed to fit in between the shelf and the wall. This keeps the peg in the hole once the shelf is set in place. This lip is a very thin piece of plastic. When you put the shelf down, you need to be very careful to put the shelf down so that it is not resting on the lip. The lip needs to slide next to shelf. The weight of the shelf sitting up on the lip, will immediately bend the lip over or break it off.I replaced about 30 of these in my kitchen that were broken when I moved into my house. During the process of installing, I broke two more. Even when I was trying to be as careful as possible.Once the lip bends over or breaks off, these can fall out of the hole very easily. Other shelf supports I have used don't use a lip to keep the shelf support in place, rather the peg is very snug in the hole, the shelf sits below the level of the peg, or there is a screw into the bottom of the shelf. I started replacing the pegs when a shelf fell out with a stack of glasses and plates on it and many of them broke. If they are installed properly and carefully, they seem to be fine unless you lift the shelf. They look nice, and they are sturdy as long as the lip is intact.
